Exemptions
An exemption records that a worker is formally excused from a requirement they would otherwise need to meet. Some people are exempt from holding a particular clearance because of another role they hold — for example, registered teachers and police officers are often exempt from needing a standard Queensland Blue Card.
Exemptions sit alongside credentials on a worker's profile and count towards their compliance. If a worker is properly exempt from a requirement, that requirement is satisfied — you don't also need to chase the underlying card.
Verifiable exemptions
Like credentials, some exemptions are verifiable — Oho can confirm the exemption against the issuing body rather than relying on the worker's say-so. When an exemption is verifiable, Oho records the outcome and keeps a history of every check, just as it does for a credential.
What you'll see
The result is shown the same way as a credential — one of a few outcomes, with a colour so it's easy to scan:

Validity and expiry are tracked separately from that verdict, and the badge always shows the most serious state on record — so these appear instead of one of the five above:

A problem the register reports outright — the clearance revoked, no matching record, a newer card superseding this one — shows under its own name in red or grey, alongside the same statusDetail value. Every one of them is listed in what a check result means.
What Oho needs
It varies by exemption, because an exemption is issued by the same body that issues the credential it excuses. Where the issuing body publishes exemptions — Queensland's Blue Card Services does — Oho needs the exemption card's own details and confirms them the same way it confirms a card.
An exemption rests on something
An exemption is almost always granted because of another role the person holds: a teacher registration, a police appointment. That role is itself a credential Oho can verify and monitor, and it's the part that changes.
Keep both on the worker's record. If the underlying registration lapses, the grounds for the exemption go with it — and you'll only find out if Oho is watching the registration too. An exemption on its own can look settled long after it has stopped being true.
