Services Victoria — Working With Children Check (VIC)
Services Victoria is the state authority that holds Victoria's Working With Children Check register. This source verifies a worker's Victorian Working With Children Check against that public register.
What Oho needs
You need the worker's family name and card number. Enter the card or application number exactly as printed on the front of the WWC card — a 7–8 character base of seven digits, sometimes followed by a letter (for example 1234567A). If the card shows a renewal suffix like -03 you can include it or leave it off; Oho only checks the part before the hyphen. Don't add spaces. Oho looks up the card number, then confirms the name matches and the card is current.
Setup and credentials
None. This is a public register, so there is no login or API key to provide.
Linking
Victoria records no employer against the check, so the worker is responsible for keeping it current. Oho's ongoing monitoring still surfaces any change to the check's status.
Good to know
Checks run in real time, with a result usually coming back in under ten seconds.
