Breadth of verifiables
Everything Oho can confirm against an official source — clearances, professional registrations, work entitlement, exemptions, and disqualification registers.
Who it's for: Anyone scoping whether Oho covers the checks their workforce needs
Availability: Available
What you get
- Real-time verification against the issuing authority, not a self-declared copy of a card
- Coverage of every state and territory scheme, with Oho routing each credential to the right register
- One standardised, colour-coded outcome whatever the register, so results read the same way across the board
- The same treatment for exemptions and ban checks as for credentials — all three are things Oho can confirm
- A place to record the credentials no register can answer for, tracked by expiry instead

Verifiables
A verifiable is anything Oho can confirm against an official source rather than taking someone's word for it. There are three kinds — credentials (the clearances and qualifications a worker holds), exemptions (requirements they're formally excused from), and ban checks (registers that should stop them working). Each is confirmed by a check, and each check returns the same set of outcomes.
Each of these is checked the moment you record it. Keeping that answer true afterwards is a separate job — see Employment verification.
Working With Children (WWC) checks
The clearance a person must hold to do child-related work. Oho recognises each state's and territory's version, routes the check to that jurisdiction's register, and returns a standardised eligibility outcome.
Availability: Available — all states and territories
- Full details → Working With Children checks
NDIS Worker Screening
A national criminal-history and risk-assessment check for workers delivering NDIS supports and services. Oho verifies the resulting clearance and monitors it for status changes over its life.
Availability: Available — one national clearance, recognised in every state and territory
- Full details → NDIS Worker Screening
AHPRA registration
The national registration held by practitioners in Australia's regulated health professions. One national register covers the whole country, so there is no state-by-state check to run.
Availability: Available — one national register, no state-by-state checks
- Full details → AHPRA registration
Teacher registration
Registration with the state or territory teaching authority. A person can hold registrations in more than one state at once, and Oho tracks each one separately.
Availability: Available — every state and territory teaching authority
- Learn the concept → Credentials — a page per state's teacher registration, including what Oho needs
- Which register → Verification Sources — VIT, QCT, NESA, and each Teacher Registration Board
Right to Work (Visa / VEVO)
Confirms a person is legally entitled to work in Australia — work rights, any conditions on them, and visa expiry — against the Department of Home Affairs VEVO system.

- Which register → Home Affairs VEVO
Ban and disqualification registers
Where a credential confirms someone is cleared, a ban check does the opposite: it makes sure a worker isn't on a register that should stop them working, and flags it if they are newly added.
Availability: Available — aged-care banning orders
- Learn the concept → Ban Checks
- Which register → ACQSC banning orders
- For developers → Bans, exemptions & police checks
Exemptions
Records that a worker is formally excused from a requirement they would otherwise need to meet. Where the exemption is verifiable, Oho confirms it with the issuing body rather than relying on the worker's say-so.

Custom credentials
A credential type your organisation defines itself, for the things the catalogue doesn't cover — an internal compliance course, a First Aid certificate, a licence, a company induction. There is no register behind these, so Oho tracks their expiry instead of querying an authority.
Availability: Available — recorded and expiry managed, not register verified

How it works
Recording a verifiable runs a check against its source straight away and records a standardised outcome on the worker's profile. Every check returns the same small set of outcomes, colour-coded, whatever the register behind it — so a Victorian WWC card and an AHPRA registration read the same way on the same profile.
→ Core Entities — verifiables, outcomes, and how they roll up → One-off verification — what happens the moment a verifiable is recorded → Credentials — the full credential catalogue, type by type
For developers
Create workers and their verifiables over the REST API and receive each outcome as a webhook event. List supported credential types returns the catalogue programmatically, so you don't hard-code it.
→ Workers & credentials → Bans, exemptions & police checks → Webhooks & event delivery
Good to know
- What Oho needs varies by type — number formats, whether a date of birth is required, and how names are matched are all documented on each verifiable's own page.
- A verifiable is only re-checked once its register is connected as a Verification Source. The first check runs either way; the ongoing loop needs the source.
- Custom credentials have no authority to query, so they're tracked by expiry rather than verified. See Employment verification.
- Don't see a check you need? Email support@weareoho.com — the catalogue grows, and the API returns the current list.
